Biography

Bishop Dexter Coleman, Sr. is a native of Dallas, TX. He attended the Assemblies of God University and graduated from Southern Bible Institute. Called by God, he began to serve as pastor of the Bethel Church of God in Christ in 1980, which was incorporated in 1985 as Kingdom Harvest Church of God in Christ where he faithfully serves as Senior Pastor.


Through his dedication to the work of the Lord, he was appointed District Superintendent of the Lighthouse District of Dallas, TX in 1984 under the leadership of Bishop J.N. Haynes. He serves as chairman of the Greater Oak Cliff Fellowship and as State Executive Secretary of the Texas Northeast Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction for the past nine years first under the late Bishop Frank W. Smith, Jr. and now under the Bishop T. W. Johnson. In 1992, the Kingdom Harvest District was formed where he presently serves as District Superintendent. In 2000, The Kingdom Harvest Church under the leadership of Pastor Coleman launched a city-wide outreach project named, “Operation: Turn the City Upside Down; A project that emphasizes outreach throughout the city and country. Pastor Coleman’s latest successful project is the birth of “God’s Fresh Manna Ministries”. A ministry which focuses on awakening a greater and more forceful outreach for the Kingdom of God through the delivery of the “fresh manna” of God’s word!

Bishop Dexter Coleman is a Holy Ghost filled preacher with a passion for souls to be saved. He is a New Testament preacher with a Pentecostal flavor, a chosen vessel of the Lord who leads by precept and example. As a spiritual leader in this grace dispensation, Bishop Coleman proclaims that we are saved by grace and not of works, lest any man should boast. He displays leadership qualities which entail strength, perseverance, and a sincere desire for every sinner to be delivered. He takes to heart the scripture in 1 Peter 4:7, "God is not slack as some count slackness, but is longsuffering, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance". He leads with boldness and ministers with compassion. His character exemplifies genuine humility while his personality is one of personal pride in the ministry of God. His dedication to the work of the Lord assists in making him the well-respected leader that he is.

Luke 14:23 says “…Go out into the highway and hedges and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled”. Bishop Coleman exemplifies being faithful to his calling and has declared that “No Soul Be Left Behind”, in which his ministry has a strong focus.


He is a loving husband to the illustrious Lady Paula Coleman and the father of three handsome men, Dexter Coleman Jr., Darius Coleman and the late Justin LePaul Coleman.

Describe the importance of prayer: 

The importance of prayer is reflected in our need to commune with our life source which is God. As expressed in St. Luke 18:1- Men ought to always pray and not faint, so it's offered as the only means to prevent fainting. JESUS, when facing the greatest test of his life In the garden of GETHSEMANE, sought the refuge of prayer, for both spiritual strength and directions.

Hunting, fishing, bowling.

Westerns

What do you enjoy most about being a grandparent? 

Loving on the grand-babies, having fun with them, and then sending them home.

What advice would you give a young pastor? 

Be sure of God's voice directing you, follow His directives, and you will always be assured of victory and success.

If you could ask God one question, what would it be? 

Why would He allow civilizations to continue for more than 2000 years after Christ knowing the longer the more is going to be lost.

How do you hold yourself accountable to others in your spiritual discipline? 

Recognizing that we all must be covered by someone. In James 5:16-Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that YE may be healed.

How do you relieve stress?

Fishing!

What do you enjoy most about being a husband? A father? 

Having that special someone that you love and care about to come home to, and share life with. Raising kids, instilling moral and principles in them and seeing them grow up and ambitiously pursue their dreams, and living true to those principles and promoting the same.

What is your favorite breakfast food? 

Turkey bacon/sausage, eggs whites, and tomato slices.
